EDI is bringing the Electric Vehicle (EV) ecosystem to the next level in Belgium by providing turn-key solutions from the purchase decision to the daily usage of an EV. More specifically EDI is selling charging stations with installation and services such as connectivity, split billing, energy management and charging cards in a seamless way to EV drivers and fleet managers. EDI is a fully owned subsidiary of D’Ieteren Auto and aims at becoming the #1 EV charging player in Belgium.

Who we’re looking for

In the context of the extension of its service proposal, EDI is looking for an experienced, self-driven and highly motivated Photovoltaic Project Engineer. You will take part, together with EDI’s team and its subcontractors, in the implementation of a new photovoltaics (PV) installation service targeting residential customers in Belgium

Responsibilities

Design residential PV systems with battery storage, covering both electrical and roof-mounting aspects, with the support of EDI’s experts on the topic. 

Run PV yield simulations, using PVSyst software or similar

Analyse Belgian technical regulation on residential PV systems

Define concrete installation procedures based on the installation and operations manual of the key equipment (PV inverter, battery, etc)

Execute CAD drawings of electrical diagram

Select balance of system equipment such as cables or protections, and identify best procurement options

Provide support on the logistics aspects of the projects, i.e. storage and transport of materials

Train and supervise technicians ahead of and during installations

Provide training and support to non-technical profiles within EDI, e.g. sales officers

Manage maintenance and support provided to EDI’s customers

Occasionally, take part in larger commercial or industrial PV and/or battery storage projects.

Requirements

Engineer with 4+ years of experience

Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical engineering, including field experience and experience in supervision of technicians. Knowledge of photovoltaic systems design is a strong asset. 

Autonomous in executing problem-solving tasks

Previous experience in electric mobility is an asset

Excellent verbal and written conversation in English, and French and/or Dutch
